Die Cut Nitrile Buna-N Gaskets Acrylonitrile Butadiene NBR Gaskets
Introduction:
Hongum specializes in precision die cut and molded nitrile (buna-n) rubber gaskets and seals for applications and industries worldwide. Nitrile rubber, also known as Buna-N and NBR, is the most widely used elastomer for gaskets and seals. Its properties provide excellent resistance to oils, solvents, gasoline, and petroleum based fluids. Due to its resilience, nitrile is used in applications requiring resistance to extreme hot and cold temperatures, abrasion, water, and gas permeability. Nitrile rubber functions well in temperatures ranging from -40°F to +212°F, intermittent to +230°F.
The main products of rubber sealing gaskets are: silicone pads, nitrile rubber pads, fluorine rubber pads, and other rubber pads.
Die Cut Nitrile (Buna-N) Gaskets
Hongum provides die cut nitrile gaskets in a wide variety of grades, thicknesses and hardness. The standard thickness of nitrile rubber ranges from 1/64″ to 1/4″ thick. Nitrile rubbers hardness (durometer) generally ranges from 30 to 90 durometer, Shore A. Die cut nitrile gaskets are black in color however our FDA (Food Grade) nitrile gaskets are also offered in white. Nitrile gaskets are available with or without pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing.
Molded Nitrile, Buna-N Gaskets (NBR)
Hongum specializes in molded nitrile gaskets and seals. Our custom nitrile molding capabilities include Compression Molding, Transfer Molding, and Rubber Injection Molding. Nitrile (NBR) compounds are available from 40 to 90 durometer, Shore A. Molded nitrile gaskets are usually black in color, however custom color compounding is available. Food Grade “FDA Approved” Nitrile (NBR) and Hydrogenated Acryonitrile (HNBR), also referred to as Highly Saturated Nitrile (HSN), are also universal molding compounds that are frequently used. Nitrile rubber molding tolerances are compliant with rubber molding industry standard RMA A2 Precision tolerances.
NBR Material:
Nitrile rubber is mainly used in the manufacture of oil-resistant rubber products. There are five types of acrylonitrile content (%) in nitrile rubber: 42-46, 36-41, 31-35, 25-30, and 18-24. The more acrylonitrile content, the better the oil resistance, but the cold resistance will decrease accordingly. It can be used for a long time in the air at 120°C or in the oil at 150°C. In addition, it also has good water resistance, air tightness and excellent bonding performance. Widely used in the production of various oil-resistant rubber products, various oil-resistant gaskets, gaskets, sleeves, flexible packaging, soft hoses, printing and dyeing rubber rollers, cable rubber materials, etc., and become indispensable in industries such as automobiles, aviation, petroleum, and copying elastic material.
