ASTM A268 TP446 is a ferritic, non-heat treatable stainless steel that offers good resistance to high temperature corrosion and oxidation. ASTM A268 TP 446-1 Tubing can be easily welded using most of the traditional methods except oxyacetylene welding. Due to its elevated chromium content, AISI TP 446-1 Tube is more difficult than other stainless steels to bend, draw, spin and weld. 446 Stainless Steel Pipe is suitable to use between 1500 - 2100°F, although its elevated temperature strength is quite low. 446 Stainless Steel Tube is used for furnace parts, oil burners, heat exchangers, kiln liners, glass molds and stationary soot blowers in steam boilers.
