SAEF Technology SFEPD290BW-7020A01 is a 3-Colors 2.9” a-Si, active matrix TFT, Electronic Paper Display (EPD) panel. The panel has such high resolution (112dpi) that it is able to easily display fine patterns. Due to its bi-stable nature, the EPD panel requires very little power to update and needs no power to maintain an image.

Reddish on the edge of black image is normal at high temperature.
Eink Material is Moisture and UV sensitive. The absolute rating operating environments describes the boundary conditions for updating the display while the absolute rating storage environment describe the boundary conditions for a display not updating. While displays are rated to perform according to specification for the warranty period at the absolute specified operating environment, the better the storage condition, the better the E Ink displays will perform. Similar to other moisture and UV sensitive components, we recommend that our displays be stored in temperature and humidity control environments, and whenever possible, under above defined Optimal Storage Condition, away from sunlight, to optimize their performance.

Analysis of AIoT's ESL solution


ESL, the full name of electronic shelf label (ESL), is a data collection portal of the Internet of Things, which collects multi-party interaction data, submits background analysis and outputs reports to improve operations. With ESLs as the core, each ESL is connected to the backend server/cloud through networking, in addition to real-time and accurate modification, display and recording of prices, goods names, barcodes, QR codes and promotional information, etc., so as to realize the digitalization of stores. Compared with traditional paper labels, ESLs have the advantages of reducing operating costs and improving management efficiency, which can improve the digital level of stores, improve customer experience, and achieve personalized marketing.

ESLs are composed of electronic ink screens, screen drive ICs, wireless communication modules, batteries, and resistor-capacitance sensors.

According to ePaper Insight statistics, in 2021, the number of global e-paper display modules (e-ink screens and modules) shipped will be about 180 million, of which more than 90% of e-paper modules are produced in Chinese mainland.
