Ceiling Pir Sensor Introduction

Ceiling Mount Curtain PIR Motion Detector: 360°Ceiling Mount PIR, Detecting human in a wild angle area by installed on ceiling. It has adopted advanced technology in signal processing and provided superhigh detection ability and anti- error alarm. The detector will detect human movement automatically when intruder pass through the detected area, and it will send out alarm signal to alarm host that there is movement(detecting human being body infrared heat). The product is suitable for the safety of residential house, villas, factories, markets, warehouses, office building etc.

The ALEPH APX series sensors provide a wall mount detection solution in a ceiling mount detector package. Model APX-101 provide a standard wide angle detection area, while the APX-201 views a long range / narrow width pattern. Packaged in a uni-spherical housing the APX models offer a simple method to conceal security coverage. With selectable Pulse Count and Sensitivity adjustments the APX series allows absolute detection in an unintaisive package.

Installation: Determine the mounting location which provides desired coverage area. For correct detection a level ceiling is required. Measure the ceiling to floor distance. To begin installation process, separate the base assembly from the detector head by sliding the base lock lever away from the base and rotating the detector head counter-clockwise to the short mark on the base. When rotation movement is complete, head away from the base.

Both APX models require a 10.5 to 28 VOC power source Power terminals include reverse polarity protection. Maximum current draw is 22mA. Use 18-24 gauge non-shielded. four conductor wire material lor all wiring connections (Refer to Pg 2 for further info). Do not run APX wire parallel to existing AC wiring. For UL installations, all wiring must be in accordance with NEC, NPFA 70 standards.

After wiring is ready mount base to ceiling, using supplied mount points. Complete wiring to the appropriate base terminals (see illustration on page two for additional details).

Prior to re-attaching sensor head to the base set mirror optics vertical adjustment on detector head assembly to match coverage area to mounting height. Make appropriate configuration settings to Pet immunity Select / Sensitivity Adjustment (Switch 1). Pulse Count (PC) Setting (Switch 2), and Alarm Memory / Alarm LEO configuration (Switches 3 & 4 respeclively). PC fixed at 2 on APX-201.

Note: Pet immunity Characteristics have not been evaluated by Underwriters Laboratories.

A Standard Sensitivity setting lowers the alarm threshold level required for a detection event. Pet immunity features are only available with a sensitivity setting of Low / Pet lmmunity. Pet Immunity features apply W APX-101 only The PC delermines the number of detection events ® required prior to an alarm event being signaled. The APX-201 Pulse Count is fixed at 2 pulses. Enabling the Alarm LED allows a momentary soiid ^ted LED indication after an alarm event is recorded.

Caution: The APX models are for indoor use only, do not mount in open or outdoor areas.
Avoid installations where the detector directly views heating, cooling, sun or automobile headlight sources.
Do not mount in areas where water or oil vapors are present.
Avoid mounting so that screens or curtains are blocking the detector's field of view.
