In coastal or aggressive environments, the traditional steel requires significant efforts to establish adequate corrosion protection. For projects requiring design lives in the region of 100 years, stainless steel provides practical solution. In general it is reasonable to use grade 304 for most non-marine applications, highways and marine structures generally call for grade 316 because of high chloride concentrations. The system enables drilling and grouting in one operation, making much saving in jobsite and project time.
