The PowerEdge R730 excels in the most demanding workloads of medium to large enterprises, such as data warehousing, e-commerce, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), databases, and high performance computing (HPC) as data nodes. With an optional 3.5" hard drive, the R730 offers up to 64 TB of fast-access storage for database, business intelligence and HPC applications.

The R730 offers high capacity, low power DDR4 memory with 24 DIMMs and 7 PCI Express. (PCIe) 3.0 expansion slots and highly scalable local storage for extreme flexibility. It comes with up to 16 2.5" hard drives to help build dense and resource-rich virtualization environments. These features of the R730, combined with GPU capabilities, help save infrastructure costs and consolidate management operations in a scalable, centralized virtual desktop environment. The GPU option also makes the R730 extremely suitable as a mid-range medical imaging solution.
