Functions and features
Function and Feature | Description
Basic function | The CE-L48XS-FDA provide data packet processing and traffic management on 48 10GE optical ports. The CE-L48XS-FDA in this series also provide two 40GE and two 100GE/40GE uplink optical ports in addition to the 10GE ports.
Maximum port density | If all LPUs are CE-L48XS-FDA cards:
| The CE12804/CE12804S chassis provides a maximum of 192 10GE optical ports. The chassis also provides a maximum of 16 40GE or 8 100GE uplink ports. | |
| The CE12808/CE12808S chassis provides a maximum of 384 10GE optical ports. The chassis also provides a maximum of 32 40GE or 16 100GE uplink ports. | |
| The CE12812 chassis provides a maximum of 576 10GE optical ports. The chassis also provides a maximum of 48 40GE or 24 100GE uplink ports. | |
| The CE12816 chassis provides a maximum of 768 10GE optical ports. The chassis also provides a maximum of 64 40GE or 32 100GE uplink ports. | |
High 10GE/GE port density (48x10GE/GE) | When the 10GE ports work in 10GE mode, they support SFP+ 10GE optical modules, and can work with 10GE Twinax high-speed cables or AOC cables.
| On a CE-L48XS-FDA card, if any one of optical ports 24-35 is working in GE mode, the 1000BASE-T copper module on the port can only work at 1000 Mbit/s, the GE optical modules on the port work in non-auto-negotiation mode by default and do not support the auto-negotiation mode configuration. | |
| On a CE-L48XS-FDA card: | |
| A 40GE uplink port can be split into two 10GE ports. The two 40GE ports on the card must work in the 40GE or 2*10GE mode simultaneously. A 100GE uplink port can be split into four 25GE ports. | |
| The two 40GE uplink optical ports support QSFP+ optical modules, LC fibers, MPO-MPO fibers, QSFP+ high-speed cables, and active optical cables (AOCs). | |
| The two 100GE/40GE uplink optical ports work in either 100GE or 40GE mode. In 100GE mode, they support QSFP28 optical modules, MPO-MPO fibers and QSFP28 AOC cables. In 40GE mode, they support QSFP+ optical modules, LC fibers, MPO-MPO fibers, QSFP+ high-speed cables, and AOC cables. | |
Limitations and Descriptions | For the CE-L48XS-FDA card:
| When 48 x 10G, 2 x 40G, and 2 x 100G ports are used at the same time, data cannot be forwarded at the line rate. | |
| When the total port bandwidth does not exceed 480 Gbit/s, SFUs can forward data at the line rate in the 4+1 backup mode. | |
| When the total port bandwidth does not exceed 600 Gbit/s, SFUs can forward data at the line rate in the 5+1 backup mode. | |
| When the total port bandwidth does not exceed 720 Gbit/s, SFUs can forward data at the line rate in the 6+0 backup mode. |
