As soon as you mount the I/O interface carrier, you’re ready to begin installing the field devices. I/O terminal blocks plug directly onto the I/O interface carrier. There is no need to have the I/O cards installed.

Autosense of redundancy:

DeltaV autosenses redundant I/O, which greatly simplifies the task of adding redundancy to the system. The redundant pair of cards is treated as one card in the system tools.

Automatic Switchover:

Should a primary I/O card fail, the system automatically switches to the “standby” card without user intervention. The operator is given clear notification of a switchover at the operator display


Redundant Power Supply Module Built for Busses

The DeltaV system is the only system built from the ground up to unleash the advantages
of digital fieldbus to deliver the project and operational savings of a digital plant–easy! Fieldbus power conditioners are integrated in the H1 card. This eliminates difficult segment power design, installation, and troubleshooting–along with eliminating cabinets for external Ff segment power supplies.

The DeltaV system also supports Profibus DP and DeviceNet and AS–i bus. The DeltaV system provides native support for configuring busses with no need for 3rd party configuration tools. Ethernet I/O devices are easily connected through a virtual I/O module. And the DeltaV system lets you take advantage of the HART–based intelligent field device diagnostics.
