Product Description
The DS3815PLNC is a PCB manufactured for the Mark IV gas and steam turbine management system from GE. This system is based on three sets of identical microcomputers that continuously monitor critical controls and parameters within the turbine system. Critical outputs (for example, trip commands) will be issued only if two or more of these microcomputers indicate that status. In this way, the MKIV system has increased reliability and minimized its turbine outage rate, as compared to previous Speedtronic systems.

The DS3815PLNC is built with three (TP) test points, one ST point, and a set of spare PTH. The board has one amber light emitting diode (LED) that is marked IMOK. The board is drilled at all corners and has nylon extractor clips added to two of these.

The DS3815PLNC can communicate with other PCBs via two mating connectors. These are marked 218A4553-1 Amp 533002-1 and 218A4637-P5 8749. Both connectors are placed on short board edges.

The DS3815PLNC has three resistor networks and thirteen jumper switches. It is worth noting some of these jumpers are multi-positional. Most resistors on the board are made of ceramic-covered metal film.

The DS3815PLNC has forty-two circuits. This includes triple three-input NAND gates, hex/quad d-type flip-flops, 8-bit high speed CMOS Static RAM chips that are directly TTL compatible (both input and output,) a 3M 5400 Textool array that acts as a PGA to LCC converter, octal buffers/line drivers/line receivers with tri-state outputs, and retriggerable monostable multivibrators. Technical support for this board, including all publications for the end-user like manuals and datasheets, was originally provided by General Electric.

Product Description

The DS3800DBIB is a small printed circuit board (PCB) designed as part of the Speedtronic (Mark IV) line manufactured by GE. The Speedtronic system is designed to sequence turbine fuel and to sequence turbine systems and their auxiliaries for startup. The Mark IV system is designed with a distributed control system which runs on an array of interconnected microprocessors. When one section of this gridwork fails, turbines will continue to work under the control of other parts of the system. In this way downtime is limited. The DS3800DBIB is designed specifically as an interface board.

The DS3800DBIB is a small daughterboard that works as a plug-in to another, larger PCB. It has been drilled out at the factory, one hole in each corner of the board. This board also has four connectors numbered 1 through 4. It has two small screw mounts covered by black tabs. The first mount is marked C101 and is positioned next to a ring marked TP1. The second is not marked and positioned next to a ring marked TP2. The DS3800DBIB has one capacitor rated 708A1, M/E 200V 1.0 +10%. It also has one blue potentiometer located on the edge of the board that is wired for variable resistance. There are ten resistors and six small capacitors marked 'cr' on the DS3800DBIB PCB
