Fusion-Protection Sleeves
These specially designed protector sleeves provide a way to support and protect a fiber optic fusion splice. As the sleeve is somewhat rigid it does help provide some protection to the splice area. The protector sleeves themselves are easy to install which means the potential for damage to the splice is minimal. The splice sleeves are heat shrinkable. Once the fusion splicing has taken place and alignment is correct, heat is applied and the sleeve shrinks to provide environmental protection to the splice.
This splice protection sleeve design represents the industry's most reliable, highest quality fusion splice protection sleeve at an economical price. Standard lengths include 60mm and 40mm. These fusion splice protection sleeves come standard with a clear outer tube for viewing the color of the optical fiber itself.
