Hourglass Worm Gear Slew Drive Description
A slew drive is designed to handle radial or axial loads using high rotational torque. Equipment for mining, construction, metalworking, PV solar energy, Concentrated Solar Power and other applications that require unrelenting strength combined with faultless precision use slewing technology for safety and accuracy.
Single axis slew drive used in flat single axis tracking system, which bracket is a north-south arrangement, east-west tracking system. According to the astronomical algorithm, the slew drive driven by motor will bear high torque to drive the whole system, so that the system can track the azimuth of the sun, as far as possible to improve the sun on the surface of the photovoltaic module irradiation, and thus increase the power generation.
This is mainly based on the design principle of the tracking system, due to the impact of the rotation of the earth, for a fixed location on the Earth, the sun cycle throughout the year, its illumination angle is also constantly changing. The solar tracking system is installed to keep solar panels up to track the sun and increase the amount of solar radiation received by photovoltaic arrays, thereby increasing the overall capacity of solar photovoltaic power generation systems.
