Worm Gears Slewing Drive Description
A Slew Drive, commonly referred as a worm drive, is a complete, ready to install system that consists of gear, worm, base, top plate and completely enclosed housing. It can be customized with hydraulic or 12V/24V/48V electric motors, planetary gearboxes. As a key component of the tracking system, the slewing reducer is called the "heart" of the tracking system, and its product performance directly affects the accuracy of the tracking system.

The worm gear and worm drive have the characteristics of reverse self-locking, which can realize reverse self-locking, that is, only the worm can drive the worm gear, but the worm cannot be driven by the worm gear to move. When the lead angle of the worm is less than the equivalent friction angle between the meshing gear teeth, the mechanism has self-locking properties and can achieve reverse self-locking, that is, only the worm can drive the worm wheel, but the worm cannot be driven by the worm wheel.
