Description

ASTM B164 Standard Nickel Copper Alloy N05500 Wire 1288-1343 ℃ Melting Point

Product Introduction

Monel K500 wire is a high-performance nickel copper based alloy wire that combines the excellent corrosion resistance of Monel 400 alloy, and achieves higher strength and hardness through the addition of aluminum and titanium and age hardening treatment. Its main components include about 63% nickel, 30% copper, and small amounts of elements such as aluminum and titanium. M
The onel K500 wire has excellent corrosion resistance, especially in seawater, saltwater, acidic solutions, and alkaline solutions. Its tensile strength can reach over 1100 MPa, yield strength is usually around 790 MPa, and hardness can reach Rockwell C hardness values of 28-38. In addition, Monel K500 wire also performs well in low-temperature environments, maintaining high strength and toughness, making it suitable for low-temperature applications such as liquefied natural gas (LNG) transportation equipment. Widely used in fields such as marine engineering, oil and gas industry, chemical industry, and aerospace, it is used to manufacture key components such as ship components, oil drilling equipment, pump shafts, and marine valves.

Specific Applications

Monel K500 Wire, as a high-performance nickel based alloy, has excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties, and is widely used in the following major industrial fields:

  1. oceanographic engineering:Due to its excellent resistance to seawater corrosion, Monel K500 is widely used in marine equipment and ship components such as propellers, bearings, valves, subsea pipelines, etc.
  2. Petrochemical industry:Monel K500 is used to manufacture petrochemical equipment such as reactors, towers, pipelines, etc., which can resist corrosion under high temperature and pressure.
  3. Aerospace:In the aerospace industry, Monel K500 is used to manufacture engine components and other components that require high temperature and pressure, such as turbine blades, seals, etc.
  4. electronics industry:Monel K500 is used to manufacture electronic components such as capacitors, resistors, etc., ensuring the stability and reliability of the equipment.
  5. Medical equipment:Due to its excellent biocompatibility and corrosion resistance, Monel K500 is used in the manufacture of certain medical devices and implants.

Advantages and Characteristics

  • High strength and hardness:The yield strength of Monel K500 can reach over 1000 MPa, the tensile strength can reach 1200 MPa, and the hardness can be increased to about 350 HV.
  • Corrosion resistance:Monel K500 has excellent corrosion resistance, especially in seawater and acidic environments. The nickel component in the alloy endows it with excellent oxidation resistance and sulfur resistance, while the addition of aluminum and titanium further enhances its ability to resist stress corrosion cracking (SCC).
  • Thermal properties:Monel K500 has good thermal stability and low thermal expansion coefficient in high temperature environments, with a thermal conductivity of about 30 W/m · K and a thermal expansion coefficient of about 13.1 × 10 ^ -6/K.
  • Processing performance:Monel K500 has excellent cold forming characteristics and can be processed through common processing techniques such as forging, rolling, bending, etc. Although it has high hardness and strength, using special tools and equipment during processing can avoid excessive wear.
  • Welding performance:Monel K500 has good welding performance, but strict control of parameters is required during welding to avoid the occurrence of cracks.
  • Low magnetism:Monel K500 typically exhibits non-magnetic properties, remaining non-magnetic even at low temperatures, giving it a unique advantage in applications that require avoidance of magnetic field interference.
