Light duty coiled pins consists of 2 1/4 coils of spring steel or stainless steel slotted pins. They remain flexible after installation, so they absorb shock and vibration better than slotted spring pins. Use them for fastening, pivoting, and holding.

Squeeze pins closed and install them in a hole slightly smaller than the pin. Tension holds them tight against the hole wall. The chamfered ends aid insertion.

Breaking strength is measured as double shear, which is the force required to break a pin into three pieces.

These pins are used for connections or the positioning of two or more parts and may also be used as shafts and hinge-, stop- or carrierpins, and are easily disassembled.

Steel pins offer good strength.

420 stainless steel pins resist wear as well as corrosion. They are magnetic.
