Standard duty coiled pins consists of 2 1/4 coils of spring steel or stainless steel slotted pins. They work well in holes that are out of round. Use them for fastening, pivoting, and holding.
Squeeze pins closed and install them in a hole slightly smaller than the pin. Tension holds them tight against the hole wall. The chamfered ends aid insertion.
Thanks to their spiral shaped cross section (approximately 2.1/4 coils) these pins are very flexible and suitable for repeated use with dynamic loads. Equal stress distribution throughout their cross section against the hole wall produces a good press fit, which can absorb shear forces unaffected by the direction.
