Product Information
M2 is a molybdenum based high-speed steel, which has the advantages of low carbide heterogeneity and high toughness. It is easy to overheat, so the quenching heating temperature should be strictly controlled, and the heat treatment protection requirements are strict. Due to its excellent hardness and wear resistance, it is mostly used for manufacturing tools for cutting difficult to cut materials. M2 high-speed steel has a strong tendency to carbonize, so it has strict requirements for heat treatment protection, and is suitable for molds that withstand vibration and impact loads.
Size Range
Round bar / Wire rod (Diameter):3.0 mm to 800 mm
Square bar / Flat bar: 1.0 mm to 500 mm
Forging piece: Stepped shafts with flanks / discs /tubes /slugs /donuts /cubes /other different shapes based on OEM.
Heavy/middle plate via hot rolled: T1.0 - 1000 mm X W10 - 1000 mm X L800-12000 mm
Sheet steel via cold rolled: T1.0 - 10 mm X W10 - 1000 mm X L100 - 1000 mm
Steel strip via cold rolled: T5.0 - 10 mm X W10 - 800 mm X L (or in coil form)
Length: Fixed length or random length or based on the customer's special requirement.

Applications
M2 alloy high speed steel is mainly used in cold forging molds, precision stamping molds, powder pressing molds, plate shearing machine molds, and plastic molds with glass fibers added. Dies suitable for vibration and impact loads: deep drawing molds, stamping molds. Metal cutting saw blades, cold heading and extrusion tools, etc.
