UNS N06022 W. Nr2.4602 Inconel C-22 Hastelloy Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings ASME SB366

The C22 alloy is nickel based and usually contains 22% chromium, 14% molybdenum and 3% tungsten. Iron is usually limited to less than 3%. The chromium content of the alloy is high, and it has good corrosion resistance to wet oxidation media (such as nitric acid, iron salts and copper salts). Its molybdenum and tungsten content makes the alloy resistant to wet reducing media (such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid). In still and flowing seawater and other fluids, C22 alloy exhibits excellent resistance to seawater corrosion.

At high temperatures, the high chromium content of Hastelloy C-22 alloy contributes to its resistance to oxidation, carburization and vulcanization. Because it is a nickel-based alloy, C22 alloy can resist high temperature corrosion of halides (such as chloride and fluoride). With these properties, the alloy is widely used to protect steel pipes and other components in coal-fired and waste-to-energy boilers.

Alloy 22 has been widely used in chemical/petrochemical processing, pollution control (flue gas desulfurization), power, ships, pulp and paper processing, and waste treatment industries.
