ASTM A240 904L Hot Rolled And Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Plate Sheet

904L (N08904, 14539) super austenitic stainless steel contains 14.0-18.0% chromium, 24.0-26.0% nickel and 4.5% molybdenum. 904L super austenitic stainless steel belongs to low carbon, high nickel, molybdenum austenitic stainless steel. Suitable for sulfuric acid of various concentration below 70 C. It also has good corrosion resistance in acetic acid of any concentration and temperature under atmospheric pressure and in mixed acid of formic acid and acetic acid.

Hot-Rolled Stainless Steel Plate:

Continuous casting slab or slab slab is used as raw material, heated by step heating furnace, dewatered by high pressure water and then into rough rolling mill.
The rough rolling material passes through the cutting head and tail and then enters the finishing mill to carry out computer controlled rolling. After the final
rolling, it is subjected to laminar cooling (computer controlled cooling rate) and coiler winding, which becomes a straight hair roll. The head and tail of the straight hair roll are often in the shape of a tongue and a fishtail. The thickness and width are poorly accurate, and the side has frequent defects such as a wave shape, a folded edge, and a tower shape. The weight of the coil is heavier and the inner diameter of the coil is 760 mm.

Cold-Rolled Stainless Steel Plate:

a. Stretch good, toughness, but the price is more expensive;
b. Cold rolling processing surface without oxide skin, good quality;
c. Cold rolling is generally used in the production of strip, the rolling speed is high;
d. Cold rolling than the thickness of the high precision. Mechanical properties, surface and so on in the hot rolling;
e. Cold rolled steel coil due to a certain degree of work hardening, low toughness, but can achieve better yield ratio, used for cold-formed spring and other parts;
f. Cold coil yield point closer to the tensile strength, so the use of risk in the process of no predictability, when the load exceeds the allowable load prone to accidents
g. The surface of the cold rolled steel coil without plating is gray.
h. Cold rolled steel plate surface smoothness is higher than the hot rolled steel coil.
