Factory Supply Prime 0.12mm-0.6mm Thick Dx51d Ral 6005 Prepainted Galvanized Steel Coil
What is PPGI steel coil?
PPGI is pre-painted galvanised iron, also known as pre-coated steel, coil coated steel, color coated steel etc., typically with a hot dip zinc coated steel substrate. The term is an extension of GI which is a traditional abbreviation for Galvanized Iron.
Why is galvanized steel coated with zinc?
The reason that the galvanizing process uses zinc instead of other metals is that zinc oxidizes and experiences acid
corrosion “sacrificially” to steel. That means that when zinc is in contact with steel, oxygen and acids will attack the zinc
rather than the steel beneath it.
What is the difference between Aluzinc and galvanized?
There is a visible difference between the two as an aluminum-zinc alloy metal appears to almost have a matte finish.
Galvanized metal corrodes linearly, and eventually, the zinc coating is completely depleted, whereas an aluminum-zinc
alloy experiences some corrosion, but on a smaller and less significant scale.
