What is equivalent to ASTM A240?
Equivalent materials to stainless steel grade A240 are EN 10088-2:2005 and EN 1.4509.

What is the difference between 410 and 420 stainless steel?
410 is a low cost general purpose stainless steel, that hardens at 35-39 RC and is used widely where

corrosion is not severe. 420 is similar to 400, but the raised carbon content produces higher strength

and hardness. Heat treatment to 50 RC min.

What is the difference between 410 and 430 stainless?
Corrosion Resistance

These steels obtain maximum corrosion and heat resistance through hardening. However, grade 410

steels are less corrosion resistant than austenitic grades and grade 430 ferritic alloys containing 17%

chromium. Smooth surface finish offers improved performance of steels.
