GCr15 steel is a high-carbon chromium bearing steel with less alloy content, good performance and the most widely used. It is the most commonly used high carbon chromium bearing steel with high hardenability. Its chemical composition and mechanical properties are regulated by the Chinese standard GB/T 18254-2016.

GCr15 is equivalent to DIN 100Gr6 in Germany standard, SUJ2 in JIS in Japan, and 52100 in the US ASTM standard. GCr15 alloy steel carbon content generally does not exceed 1.05%.

GCr15 alloy steel has the following general characteristics:

(1)High carbon Content: GCr15 is the most commonly used high carbon chromium bearing steel with high hardenability. The carbon content in T10 is generally not exceed 1.05%.

(2)Excellent property: GCr15 has high contact fatigue strength, good dimensional stability and corrosion resistance, moderate cold deformation plasticity, general machinability, poor weldability, sensitive to white spot formation, and class I temper brittleness.

(3)Strong wear resistance: GCr15 has high hardness and strength, the surface is not easy to wear, and it can still maintain good performance under high temperature and high pressure conditions.

Applications of GCr15 Bearing Steel

For making all kinds of bearing ring and rolling element, such as steel ball roller and ferrule of inernal combustion engine, electric motorcycle, automonilrd tractors, machine tools, rolling mill, boring machine, mining machinery, general machinery, high load and high speed roating mechanical transmission bearing.
