Description

OEM CNC precision die casting stainless steel machine parts service

Die casting is one of the casting processes. It produces parts by melting the metal first and then leading it into a pre-designed mold (the die) under high pressure. After the mold is cooled down and the metal is hardened, a preliminary product is completed.

The advantage of machining stainless steel using CNC

One-stop production: CNC machining stainless steel can be used for small and complex part production. However, casting has limitations that are not suitable for manufacturing complex parts. Using casting for complex products can lead to dimensional errors and rough surfaces.

Faster production cycle: CNC machining of stainless steel is a faster production process compared to casting this material. Die alignment is a time-consuming operation followed by melting and cooling the metal and casting the final product. CNC machining, on the other hand, involves computer code generation, workpiece alignment, and post-production ejection of stainless steel parts.

Dimensional accuracy and stability: CNC operations are managed by computer, reducing the risk of human error in dimensional accuracy. Stainless steel casting may require extreme heating and cooling, which can alter the dimensional accuracy of the final product.

Basic Process Of Stainless Steel Die Casting

Clamping

To help with step 2, injection, the dies need cleaning and lubrication. The die halves are then closed and clamped together, using high pressure after cleansing and lubricating.

Injection

The molten metal is being transferred from a furnace into a ladle. The molten metal injected into the clamped die, is then poured into the shot chamber. The heated die seals it in after it’s pushed under high pressure.

Cooling

After the molten metal injected into the die, must cool and solidify. The die cannot be unclamped during this period. When the metal has cooled, it assumes its final form as a casting.

Ejection

The die halves are unclamped after the cooling cycle is being completed. The solidified casting is also ejected from the die using an ejection mechanism.

Trimming

The last stage in the die casting process is trimming. While the metal cools, remove any extra metal in the sprue and runner, as well as any flash that has occurred. The final casting’s excess material is then trimmed away. The trimmed sprue, runners, and flash can be.

Die casting stands out as a highly efficient process for manufacturing detailed, high-volume metal parts. This process uses specialized molds, known as dies, which are designed to produce multiple parts simultaneously, ensuring efficiency and consistency. Typically used for metals such as aluminum and zinc, die casting involves melting the metal and injecting it under high pressure into these molds.

Why Cast Stainless Steel?

High Accuracy

Cast stainless steel parts created by investment casting process are extremely accurate and near net shape. Since cast stainless steel components are created by using the same wax patterns, this accuracy can be maintained from part to part.

Custom Design

Cast stainless steel can be used to make any shape you like. It is also a designer’s dream. Logos, product ID’s or numbers, and letters can easily be added to the inside and/or outside of components. Lots of complicated stainless steel parts unavailable from forging or machining could be produced by casting process.

Good Hardness

Compared to other cast alloys, cast stainless steel exhibits superior hardness. Hardness is the ability of cast stainless steel to resist indentation and abrasion. Due to its good hardness, parts made from cast stainless steel can work longer than expected.

JYH has rich experience in die casting services. Die casting is a method of forming solid metal parts and is suitable for a wide variety of industries. Die castings are valued for their precise detail, durability and consistent grade.
