Requirements of welding procedure
8.1. Requirements of class A project
8.1.1. Make the most of welding machine for the sake of arc extinguishing control and quality of arc run-off joint while adopting CO2 gas shielded welding. Priorities should be placed on avoidance of defects such as undercut and deep arch pit and smooth arc run-off joint to achieve even and decent welding seam.
8.1.2. The joint must be sealed tightly when the caulking welding is getting involved. Continuous welding must be carried out at the corners of the weld seam without interruption of welding arch.
8.1.3. Flat position should be preferred as for welding at where splicing connections, end plates and bracket connections set in and in particular, it is required to use symmetrical welding to avoid sizable deformation. There must be cushion in the middle position for the longer members to avoid welding deformation.
8.1.4. When the fillet welding size is over 8mm, it is a must to apply multi-run and multi-layer welding amidst controlled temperature between layers.
8.1.5. It is compulsory to conduct multi-run and multi-layer welding for grooved and full penetrated welding. It is not until the welding slags and spatters have been cleaned off after each running that the following running should be conducted
8.1.6. The welder shall blow off any defect identified during ultrasonic testing via carbon arc gouging. Repair welding will be implemented till the surface of the members to-be -repair-welded has been spruced by bench grinder. Upon the completion of repair welding, the inspector should also do ultrasonic testing again.
8.1.7. Any defects such as undercut, porosity and crater must undergo repair welding and prior to repair work, grinding procedure is necessary.
8.1.8. The welder shall print embossed stamp on the specified welding position after receipt of qualified acceptance.
8.2. Requirements of class B project
8.2.2. The joint must be sealed tightly per the welding apperance requirements stipulated in Article 7 when the caulking welding is getting involved. Continuous welding must be carried out at the corners of the weld seam without interruption of welding arch.
8.2.3. Flat position should be preferred as for welding at where splicing connections, end plates and bracket connections set in and in particular, it is required to use symmetrical welding to avoid sizable deformation. There must be cushion in the middle position for the longer members to avoid welding deformation.
8.2.4. When the fillet welding size is over 8mm, it is a must to apply multi-run and multi-layer welding amidst controlled temperature between layers.
8.2.5. Any defects such as undercut, porosity and crater must undergo repair welding in accordance with the welding apperance requirements in Article 7.
8.2.6. The welder shall print embossed stamp on the specified welding position after receipt of qualified acceptance.
