Introduction

GCr15 steel has low alloy content and good performance. It is currently the most widely used bearing steel. After quenching and low temperature tempering, it will have higher hardness and uniform good structural properties.

This type of steel can meet the processing requirements under general working conditions. The brand numbers of ordinary high-carbon chromium bearing steel are GCr15 and GCr15SiMn. The performance of these two types of bearings is basically the same. But the hardenability of GCr15SiMn is better than GCr15, so GCr15SiMn is used for relatively large bearing parts. Because GCr15SiMn has high crack sensitivity and low impact resistance, it cannot fully meet the requirements for thick-walled bearings and mine bearings. Therefore, the railway department does not allow the use of CGr15SiMn on passenger car bearings. It is also limited to thick-wall rolling mills and mining machinery under large compact loads.
