An arch bridge is a bridge with abutments at each end shaped as a curved arch. Arch bridges work by transferring the weight of the bridge and its loads partially into a horizontal thrust restrained by the abutments at either side. Arch bridges are one of the oldest sorts of bridges and have nice natural strength. They were originally designed of stone or brick however currently are designed of ferroconcrete or more likely of steel which permits arch bridges to be longer with lower spans.
The concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) arch bridge is an excellent type of steel-reinforced concrete composite arch bridge, in which the local stability of a steel tube is improved by the concrete filling it, while the toughness and strength of the concrete are improved by the external confinement of the steel tube. The CFST arch bridge was first developed in the Soviet Union in the 1930s, and was later abandoned after the construction of two such bridges, due to a failure to take advantage of its structure and construction. Chinese engineers have conducted thorough research into the mechanism and construction method of CFST arch bridges, and have promoted the construction of a large number of CFST arch bridges in China. During the past 20 years, more than 400 CFST arch bridges have been constructed in China, with a maximum span of 530 m. Moreover, the development of CFST arch bridges is still both rapid and promising, and the span record for concrete arch bridges with a CFST skeleton continues to increase.

About Us
We always use high-quality structure steel in certified grades for bridge fabrication. Prefabrication of steelwork in our highly controlled factory conditions leads to high quality work at minimum cost. The excellent quality control is achieved through a thorough testing regime at the steel mills and during the fabrication processes of cutting and drilling, assembly, welding, and protective treatment. The quality assurance that is attained should give confidence to all clients and engineers who specify steel for their bridge project.
We use Corten Steel for most type of bridges. Corten steel is a high strength low alloy steel that in suitable environments forms an adherent protective rust ‘patina’, to inhibit further corrosion. The corrosion rate is so low that bridges fabricated from unpainted weathering steel can achieve a 120 year design life with only nominal maintenance.
