Copper Alloy Steel ASME SB111 C44300 O61 Heat Exchanger Tube In Power Generation
The O61 designation refers to the softened, annealed temper or heat treatment of the alloy. This temper results in a soft, ductile form of the material that is easier to shape and form into tubes.
Copper-nickel alloys such as C44300 have inherent resistance to biofouling (marine organisms attaching to the surface), which is important for marine heat exchangers. While softer than its work-hardened counterparts, C44300 still offers good strength, especially in its annealed form, allowing it to resist wear and pressure.
