Highway guardrail is a device to protect vehicles and pedestrians

Highway crash guardrail is the main form of semi-steel guardrail. It is a continuous structure with corrugated steel guardrail plate joined together and supported by the main post. It uses the deformation of soil foundation, post, beam to absorb collision energy, and force the out-of-control vehicle to change direction, return to the normal driving direction, prevent the vehicle from rushing out of the road, in order to protect the vehicle and passengers, reduce the loss caused by the accident. Corrugated beam guardrail steel is soft and has strong ability to absorb collision energy, good line of sight induction function, can be coordinated with road line shape, beautiful appearance, can be used in small radius of the curve, the damage is easy to replace. Composite corrugated beam guardrails can be used on narrow central dividers.

Sigma road guardrail post is commonly used abroad, it is composed of steel strip cold rolling forming, due to the shape like the Greek letter "Σ", the so called sigma post. Sigma psot than U /C post, material ductility is stronger, the support area is larger, higher strength, it is mainly connected with special-shaped block, have the effect of holding the guardrail components, to prevent the vehicles and pedestrians out, it is suitable for the relatively narrow roads or corner, can effectively ensure the safety of the pedestrians and vehicles on the road, to prevent accidents.
Sigma post is generally made of Q235B or Q345B strip steel hot-rolled and formed. The process is relatively simple, the cost is lower, and the maintenance is convenient in the later period. The surface is hot-dip galvanized, with strong anti-corrosion ability, cold and hot weather resistance, long life and great strength.
