Carbon Steel Flange ASTM A105 Oil Gas Plumping Heating Fabrication
Overview
ASTM A105 flanges are a standard for flanges. Flanges made of stainless steel can be specified in different grades.ASTM A105 carbon steel flanges are designed to withstand high temperatures. Steel flanges made from A105N material are referred to as ASTM A105N flanges. ASTM A105N steel has no grade in the ASTM A105 standard, and N refers to the heat treatment normalization of the steel. Carbon steel A105N flanges are manufactured from low carbon steel materials that may contain manganese, phosphorus or sulfur.A105 carbon steel flanges are characterized by high toughness and wear resistance. They are commonly used in oil and gas transmission pipelines. These flanges are available in a range of grades and sizes.

What temperature is A105 normalized?
Typical heat treatments for A105 carbon steel forgings include annealing (A), normalizing (A), normalizing and tempering (NT), and quenching and tempering (QT). In particular, many customers often require normalizing at approximately 950°C for 2.5 hours to eliminate internal stresses that may be present in the forgings.
