Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe ASTM A312 TP316L Heat Exchangers Food
Stainless steel 316L tubing is an ultra-low carbon content version of its parent stainless steel grade 316. The lower carbon content minimizes the harmful carbide precipitation that is often the result of welding on stainless steel, as specified by ASTM for sa312 tp316L pipe. Therefore, when welding is required, 316L stainless steel grade 10 can be used in order to ensure maximum corrosion resistance of the alloy during and after welding. Its predecessor alloy, grade 316 stainless steel, is more susceptible to weld rot than stainless steel ASTM A312 Tp316L. Therefore, ASTM A312 specified stainless steel 316L ERW tubing is often a very suitable application, not only involving high temperature environments, but also high corrosion use. This is why stainless steel 316L tubing is considered very popular in many industries, especially for use in critical areas such as construction and marine projects.
In addition, this alloy grade is often referred to as marine grade due to the ability of seamless 316L stainless steel pipe to resist corrosion even in polluted marine environments. In fact, because of its corrosion resistance, 1.4436 stainless steel pipe is often used in process streams that contain chlorides or halides. The addition of molybdenum to the alloy of these pipes is what increases their resistance to general corrosion and chloride pitting.
