AISI 431, UNS S43100, DIN 1.4057 Stainless Steel Shaft For Automobile, Marine Equipment
AISI 431 is high chromium, low carbon martensitic stainless steel with hight hardenability among all martensitic alloys. Usually supplied in hardened consition "T", this steel has good corrosion resistance and high tensile strength. AISI 431 is the most suitable for pumps and shafts. AISI 431 is a heat treatable martensitic, nickel-bearing grade and has high corrosion resistance. It also has good tensile and torque strength, and excellent toughness, making it ideally suited to shafting and bolt applications. A stainless steel shaft is a rotating device which has a circular cross-section. It helps in transmitting power from one machine to the other. Stainless Steel Shafts are designed with excellent corrosion resistance properties. These 431 stainless steel shafts can withstand high pressures and extreme temperatures in different stress-induced environments. They are also strong and they are common in the marine industry, where they are useful to manufacture propeller shafts, rudder shafts, and other components in constant contact with seawater.
