Carbon Steel Pipe Fittings, ASTM A234 WPB CS TEE, FLANGE, Elbow
Material Composition of ASTM A234 WPB fittings, they are made from carbon steel and have a maximum carbon content of 0.30%. The material also contains small amounts of manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and silicon. ASTM A234 covers various types of pipe fittings, such as elbows, tees, reducers, caps, etc. They can come with various end connections, such as threaded, socket weld, and butt weld, to suit different piping system requirements. Besides, to enhance corrosion resistance and prolong the service life of ASTM A234 WPB fittings, special coatings such as galvanization, epoxy coating, or other protective layers can be applied based on the specific application requirements.

Process
Killed steel, with forgings, bars, plates, sheet, and seamless or fusion-welded tubular products with filler metal added. Forging or shaping operations performed by hammering, pressing, piercing, extruding, upsetting, rolling, bending, fusion welding, machining, or by a combination of two or more of these operations.
Heat Treatment
After forming at an elevated temperature, fittings are cooled to a temperature below the critical range under suitable conditions to prevent injurious defects caused by too rapid cooling, but in no case more rapidly than the cooling rate in still air. Heat treatment temperatures specified are metal (part) temperatures.
Tests and Examinations
ASTM A234 WPB or WPC fittings shall be furnished free of injurious imperfections such as dents, crackings, scratches, etc. Rigorous dimensional examination and visual inspection shall be performed. PMI heat analysis and tensile tests shall be performed to determine its chemical composition and mechanical properties. When required, other tests including Liquid Penetrant Inspection, Magnetic Particle Examination, Eddy-Current Test and Ultrasonic Test may be performed.
