Grade 2 titanium tubes are made from commercially pure titanium or unalloyed titanium. Level 2 contains standard oxygen. ASTM B861 gr 2 pipe can be easily welded. It also has excellent strength and ductility. The natural strength of metal is used for applications that require extreme strength, while the corrosion resistance is used for long-lasting appliances. Although most use cases are industry standard, Ti 2 grade seamless tubing can also be used for aesthetic and domestic applications. The cost is very high due to raw material cost and production cost. Commercially pure CP 2 grade titanium welded pipe contains over 99% titanium. They can be cold drawn into titanium grade 2 seamless tubes or hot rolled into welded tubes. They are used in high temperature applications, such as titanium stage 2 exhaust pipes, and they can maintain their shape due to their high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion rate, and high oxidation resistance at high temperatures.
ASTM B861 Gr 2 ERW pipe is resistance welded for easy welding. Commercially pure titanium also eliminates carbide precipitation, making the material resistant to localized corrosion. Also, there is less uniform corrosion. Applications for Ti 2 grade EFW tubing include aerospace structures, medical industrial equipment, marine and chemical industries. Pipes come in different shapes. CP 2 grade titanium hollow tubes are available in round or square shapes. Round shapes are common, but titanium ASTM B861 Grade 2 square tubing is used for structural applications where strength cannot be compromised. Cp Titanium Grade 2 Schedule 40 Pipe is a mild pressure rating. There are other pressure classes that can cover very high hydraulic levels.
