Inconel Alloy Welded Pipe ASTM B514 800H UNS N08800 Power Generation
Overview
ASTM B514 is a standard specification for Nickel-lron-ChromiumAlloy Welded Pipes. The ASTM B514 specification covers Incoloy800 and lncoloy H alloys. It covers them in the form of cold-worked and annealed welded pipes which are applicable forgeneral corrosive service and heat resisting applications.ASTMB514 Incoloy 8o0 Welded Pipes are usually applicable in servicetemperature up to 1100 F or 593 C. Whereas, ASTM B514Incoloy 800H Welded Pipes are usually applicable in servicetemperature above 1100 F or 593 C where resistance to creepand rupture is required. They are annealed to produce controlledgrain size required for optimum properties in this temperaturerange. These Incoloy alloys possess very high resistance tochloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking, and also exhibits goodresistance to polythionic acid cracking. Hence, these pipes and tubes are highly applicable in high temperature petrochemicalenvironments.
The characteristics of ASTM B514 800H
HIGH TEMPERATURE RESISTANCE: It can be stabilized for long periods of time in high temperature environments, and it is capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1,100°C. This makes it widely used in high-temperature processes such as petroleum refining and the chemical industry.
Corrosion Resistance: It has excellent corrosion resistance against a wide range of corrosive media such as acid gases, sulfides and chlorides. This makes it widely used in the chemical, petroleum and food industries.
Oxidation Resistance: It has good oxidation resistance and maintains material stability even in high temperature environments. This makes it very popular in applications such as high temperature heating equipment and heat exchangers.
Excellent Mechanical Properties: It has excellent mechanical properties with high strength, high toughness and good machinability. This allows it to withstand high temperature and high pressure operating conditions in a variety of industrial equipment.
Stable chemical composition: ASTM B514 800H alloy has a stable chemical composition with some resistance to thermal stress corrosion cracking. This makes it less susceptible to change during high temperature processes, maintaining material stability and reliability.
