A dental needle is a specialized medical needle used by dental professionals to administer local anesthesia into oral tissues. It is designed for precision in the confined spaces of the mouth, ensuring patient comfort and effective numbing during procedures. The ultra-sharp needle tip minimizes the patient's pain and discomfort during the injection of liquid anesthetics, while the needle tube’s high-break resistance makes it be able to be bent for access to difficult to reach places. Generally the selection of the dental needle is based on injection types and the penetration depth. The most common gauge sizes for dental needles are 25G, 27G and 30G. The orientation of the bevel point refers to the angle where the needle tube is sharpened. A bevel tip orientation of 45 degree is appropriate for most situations.
Generally, we manufacture the dental needle by medical grade stainless steel 304 grade due to its excellent corrosion resistance. And our company mainly provide semi-finished stainless steel needle tubes for clients to assemble with other medical devices like syringes or cannulas. We produce not only dental needles, but also injection needles, blood lancet needles, insulin pen needles, biopsy needles, cosmetic needles and so on. If the client has requirements for special needle tips and shapes, we can also customize needle tubes to meet the client's requirements.
Design:
1.Shaft: Varies in length (short/long) for different injection depths.
2.Beveled Tip: Angled tip (short or long) for smoother tissue penetration.
3.Gauge: Ranges from 25G (thicker) to 30G (thinner). Thinner needles reduce pain but may bend more easily.
4.Material: Stainless steel for durability and sharpness.
Types of Dental Needles:
1.By Gauge Size:
-25G / 27G: Thicker, used for dense tissues (e.g., palatal injections).
-30G: Thinner, preferred for superficial injections (e.g., infiltration).
OD | OD Range | ID Min.(MM) | ||||
Gauge | Norminal(MM) | Min. | Max. | RW | TW | ETW |
30G | 0.30 | 0.298 | 0.320 | 0.133 | 0.165 | 0.190 |
27G | 0.40 | 0.400 | 0.420 | 0.184 | 0.241 | - |
25G | 0.50 | 0.500 | 0.530 | 0.232 | 0.292 | - |
2.By Length:
-Short (10–20 mm): For shallow injections (e.g., maxillary infiltration).
-Long (30–45mm): For deep tissue blocks (e.g., inferior alveolar nerve block).
3.By Bevel Needle Tip:
-Short Bevel: Minimizes tissue trauma in sensitive areas.
-Long Bevel: Easier penetration in tougher tissues.
