ASTM B167 Inconel 690 pipe
ASTM B167 covers seamless nickel-chromium-iron alloy (Ni-Cr-Fe) pipe for high temperature and corrosive applications.
Inconel 690 is a high chromium nickel-chromium alloy optimized to resist oxidation, carburization, and corrosion in harsh environments.
High chromium content (27-31%): Excellent resistance to oxidizing acids (e.g., nitric acid), chlorides, and high temperature oxidation.
Low thermal expansion: Suitable for thermal cycling applications.
Resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC): Excellent in alkaline and acidic environments.
Stability in high temperature water: Widely used in nuclear and power generation systems.
Superior oxidation resistance compared to alloys with lower chromium content (e.g., Inconel 600). Minimal sensitivity to chloride-induced stress
corrosion cracking and intergranular corrosion.
Long-term stability in high temperature water (e.g., nuclear coolant systems).
