Low alloy structural steel (also known as ordinary low alloy steel, HSLA)
1. It is mainly used in the manufacture of Bridges, ships, vehicles, boilers, high-pressure vessels, oil and gas pipelines, large steel structures, etc.
2. Performance requirements (1) High strength: generally, its yield strength is above 300MPa.
(2) High toughness: elongation is required to be 15% ~ 20%, room temperature impact toughness is greater than 600kJ/m ~ 800kJ/m. High fracture toughness is also required for large welded components.

3. Composition characteristics (1) Low carbon: due to high requirements of toughness, weldability and cold forming performance, its carbon content is not more than 0.20%.

(3) the addition of niobium, titanium or vanadium and other auxiliary elements: a small amount of niobium, titanium or vanadium in the steel to form fine carbide or carbonitride, is conducive to obtain fine ferrite grains and improve the strength and toughness of steel. In addition, adding a small amount of copper (≤0.4%) and phosphorus (about 0.1%) can improve the corrosion resistance. Adding a small amount of rare earth elements can desulfurize, degassing, purify steel, improve toughness and process properties.,
