Galvanised Steel Coil Description

Hot-dip galvanised steel coils are made by a process whereby cold-rolled or hot-rolled steel coils are dipped into a molten zinc solution, which evenly covers the surface with a protective layer of zinc. This process gives the steel outstanding corrosion resistance, allowing it to have a longer service life in wet or corrosive environments. The zinc coating provides physical protection to the steel coil, and also prevents the steel from being damaged by corrosion through the sacrificial anodic effect of the zinc.

The greatest advantage of hot-dip galvanized steel coils is the excellent anti-corrosion properties. The zinc layer can effectively isolate the steel surface from moisture, oxygen and other corrosive media in the air, and form a dense oxide film on the surface, further enhancing its anti-corrosion ability,which enables galvanised steel coils to maintain stable under extreme climatic conditions and is particularly suitable for use in coastal, humid and industrially polluted areas.

Galvanised Steel has excellent corrosion resistance,the zinc coating layer has better electrochemical protection on steel than painting and plastic coating.It can last for decades of years without any problem of peeling off,and also higher collosion and scratch resistance.

• Strong durability: ​

Not only will the zinc coating play the role of a physical barrier but also protects the steel underneath through electrochemical reactions (sacrificial anode action) when the coating is scratched or damaged.

• Good workability:

Hot-dip galvanized steel coils maintain the processability of steel, and the zinc layer is thin and uniform, which does not affect the performance of steel during processing and forming.

• Thermal resistance

Galvanized steel has good thermal resistance,can be used for long time without discoloration below 230℃, and it will discolor when it exceeds 250℃.
