What is steel structure?
Steel structure is a metallic structure in which members composed of structural steel are connected to each other to carry a load and provide sufficient rigidity. Due to the high strength steel grade, this kind of structure is reliable and need less raw material than other types of structures such as concrete structures and wood structures. At the same time, it will use smaller foundation to reduce the concrete quantity to save the cost as its light steel structure material.
In modern buildings, steel structures are used in almost all types of structures, including heavy industrial buildings, high-rise buildings, light steel structure buildings, etc. It also widely used in different industrial area, such as steel structure workshop, machine manufacture worksop, storage warehouse, vegetable workshop, etc.
Product Specification
The main structural components of a steel structure building include:
1. Primary Framing
Main steel frame is mainly composed of steel beams, steel columns, steel trusses and other components made of section steel and steel plate, and adopts rust removal and anti-rust process such as shot blasting, painting and galvanizing. Welding, bolts or rivets are usually used to connect each member or component.
2. Secondary Framing (Bracing, Z and C section purlin)
Secondary members connect the main frame and help in resisting part of the longitudinal loads that are applied on the building such as wind and earthquake loads.
Steel purlin is available in 1.8 mm. 2.0 mm, 2.2 mm, 2.5 mm and 3.0 mm thickness. The purlin come with a galvanized sheet.
Column bracing is a connecting member set between two adjacent columns to ensure the overall stability of the building structure, improve lateral stiffness and transfer longitudinal horizontal force.
3. Roof and wall cladding system
Steel sheet, its base sheet is usually be galvanized sheet or aluminium zinc sheet with organic coating. It has the advantages of good corrosion resistance, bright color, beautiful appearance, convenient processing and forming, and has the original strength of the steel plate and low cost.
The thickness of steel sheet usually be 0.3mm-0.7mm and used in different building and requirement.
Sandwich panel is composite insulation panel made by two sides steel sheet and heat insulated core material through binder (or foam). The core can be EPS (polystyrene ), fiberglass wool, rock glass wool and PU (polyurethane), thickness 50mm, 60mm, 75mm, 100mm, 150mm, 200mm, etc.

The Uses of Steel Structure Building
1. Portal frame structures
Portal frame structures are traditional structural system. The main frame includes rigid frame beams, rigid frame columns, supports, purlins, tie rods, etc. The portal steel frame has the characteristics of simple force, clear force transmission path, fast component production, convenient factory processing, and short construction period, so it is widely used in industrial, commercial and other buildings, such as warehouse, workshop, factory, plant, steel shed, etc.
2. Frame structures
Frame structures refer to the structure in which beams and columns are connected to form a load-bearing system, that is, a frame composed of beams and columns jointly resists horizontal and vertical loads during use. The wall of the frame structure building is not load-bearing and only plays the role of enclosure and separation. It is mostly used in office, mall, exhibition hall building.
3. Light steel structures
Light steel structures usually refer to the structure welded by round tube, small angle steel, square tube and C section purlin, etc.. The advantages are low cost, high degree of factory production, small on-site installation workload, beautiful appearance, wide internal space, high construction area and space utilization.

Installation of prefabricated steel structure buildings:
1. Foudation construction
Pre-embedded anchor bolts, detail need to according to the foundation construction drawing;
2. Column installation
One worker commands truck crane how to move, 3 ~ 4 workers cooperate with crane to install the steel column, put column to anchor bolt location;
3. Beam installation
After completing the installation of adjacent two steel column, then main beam begin to install.
4. Installing roof & wall purlin
The roof and wall purlin will be installed after finishing column and beam. Bolting the purlin on the main structure.
5. Fixing wall and roof sheet
To fix the wall sheet on wall purlin by self-tapping screw; then fix the roof sheet;
6. Fixing the cover
To install the cover on the corner, eave, window and door opening;
7. Install windows and doors.
