Brief introduction of Marine turbocharger:
When the diesel-exhaust turbocharger combination is in operation, the marine turbocharger/exhaust gas turbocharger is prone to failures such as turbine casing corrosion, bearing damage, blade damage, gas seal damage, and supercharger vibration. All measurements of the shaft, the pinion and the bores of the casing need to be checked if they are within tolerance.
The oil pump is tested at several speed ranges for vibration and to check if the oil pump is delivering the required pressure at the correct speed after reassembly.
