UNS N06690 Inconel Alloy Inconel 690 W.Nr.2.4642 Alloy Seamless Pipe ASTM SB167
Inconel 690 W.Nr.2.4642 nickel based alloy seamless tube UNS N06690
Material designation: Inconel 690 nickel based alloy
German grade: W.Nr.2.4642
US grade: N06690
Overview of Inconel 690 (N06690) nickel-based alloy:
Inconel 690 (UNS N06690) nickel-based alloy has a chromium content of 27.0-31.0% and nickel-based alloy with a nickel content of about 59%. Inconel 690 (UNS N06690) nickel-based alloy has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion and intergranular stress The ability of corrosion cracking is mainly used for the material of the heat transfer tube of the steam generator of the PWR nuclear power plant.
The materials used in the steam generator heat transfer tubes of PWR nuclear power plants have undergone a course of development, including 304 austenitic stainless steel, 600 alloy, 800 alloy and 690 alloy. The study of corrosion failure in 600 alloy service shows that intergranular corrosion and intergranular stress corrosion cracking are the main problems. 690 alloy is used as the material of the heat transfer tube of the steam generator of the PWR nuclear power plant. Since it was put into use in the 1990s, no damage has been reported. The effect is very good.
