OBV5-C40-PV
Prewired modular complete unit for use in photovoltaic systems consisting of a base part and plug-in protection modules
Combined disconnection and short-circuiting device with safe electrical isolation in the protection module prevents fire damage resulting from d.c. switching arcs (patented SCI principle)
Tried and tested fault-resistant Y circuit of the OBV6-C40-PV prevents damage to the surge protective device in case of insulation faults in the generator circuit.
Integrated d.c. fuse allows safe replacement of protection modules without arc formation.

Note: The system lightning protection does not guarantee that the equipment will not be 100% damaged by lightning; the power system must be multi-level lightning protection;
The complete lightning protection system includes external lightning protection and internal lightning protection. External lightning protection refers to: lightning receptors, down conductors, and grounding bodies, which are mainly used to defend against direct lightning strikes. Internal lightning protection includes: shielding, reasonable wiring, safe distance, equipotential connection, overvoltage protection, etc., mainly used to prevent lightning induction, ground potential counterattack, lightning wave intrusion, etc.
Application
●AC/DC distribution
●Power supplies
●Industrial automation
●Telecommunications
●Motor controls systems
●PLC applications
●Power transfer equipment
●HVAC applications
● AC drives
●UPS systems
●Security systems
●IT/Data centers
Tip: Lightning protection is probabilistic protection, and we cannot provide 100% protection.
First, lightning discharge itself has a certain degree of randomness, and lightning parameters have certain statistical properties, which determines that all protective measures based on these statistical characteristics of lightning parameters cannot provide 100% protection. Such as: direct lightning protection-shielding characteristics; lightning current amplitude, waveform, etc. have statistical properties;
Second, the lightning protection equipment cannot prevent the formation of lightning flashes;
Third, lightning protection devices cannot ideally eliminate all interference voltages/currents. The fundamental purpose of taking protective measures is to ensure that most of the energy caused by interference does not spread to the vulnerable parts of the device and the staff.
Finally, the cost of protection against high-level surges with a small probability of occurrence has risen sharply.

Importance of theground connection
Overvoltage protectors (SPD) divert excess energy toground, so limiting the peak voltage to an acceptablevalue for connected electrical equipment.
A ground connection in adequate condition is, therefore,a key aspect for effective protection against overvoltages.Monitoring ground connection condition guaranteesproper operation of surge protection devices.
