Indication:
• Mandible trauma:
Comminuted fracture of mandible, unstable fracture, infected nonunion and bone defect.
• Mandible reconstruction:
For first time or second reconstruction, used for bone graft or defect of dissociative bone blocks (If the first operation no bone graft, the reconstruction plate only ensure to bear a limited period of time, and must make a second bone graft operation to support the reconstruction pate).
Features & Benefits:
• pitch-row of reconstruction plate is a specalized design for fixation during operation, improve the stress concentration phenomenon in the specific area and fatigue strength.
Since past many years management of facial trauma has evolved greatly. To provide stable fixation various plating system have been developed. To reconstruct the chin and mandibles, craniofacial skeleton surgery and midface fractures, the maxillofacial plating system is designed. There are various forms of plates and screws for fixation of maxilla, mandible and midface including fractures of orbit and zygoma. They also involve plates for mandibular reconstruction after tumor resection. Different sizes and shapes of plates are available as per the needs.
Open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) is the most important treatment modality to restore the compromised form and function. Adequate reduction and fixation with miniplate osteosynthesis is the essential component of management.
The following are guidelines for internal fixation based on the four basic principles formulated by AO in 1958.

Anatomic reduction: Fracture reduction and fixation to restore normal anatomy
Stable fixation: Fracture fixation with relative or absolute stability, as required by the patients injury and type of fracture
Preservation of blood supply: By gentle reduction and careful handling along with preservation of vascularity of soft tissues and the bone
Early and active mobilization: Rehabilitation of the injured part and the patient as a whole with early and safe mobilization
