Shock Absorption of Automobile Suspension
Why use air spring shock absorbers for car suspension upgrades? Quite simply, air shocks, also known as adaptive damping shocks, go through a damping process that reduces spring movement. Shock absorbers reduce the magnitude of vibration by converting the kinetic energy of suspension movement into heat energy.
The most common type of shock absorber has an upper mount attached to a piston rod, which in turn is attached to a piston, which is located in a cylinder filled with hydraulic oil.
When the wheel encounters a bumpy road surface, so that the spring moves, the energy of the spring will be transmitted to the shock absorber through the upper support, and then to the piston. There are holes in the piston, and hydraulic oil will seep out of the holes when the piston moves. Thereby slowing down the movement speed of the piston, the speed of the spring will be slowed down accordingly.
