Selection of heavy castors

So what is the concept of heavy castors?

Heavy castors refer to castors with relatively large load capacity. They are classified according to

the load-bearing capacity of castors. They are relatively light castors and medium-sized castors.

There is no clear boundary. Generally, they bear 500 kg to 15 tons or even higher load, which is

called heavy castors.

1. Choose a heavy caster manufacturer
At present, there are many manufacturers of casters in China, good and bad. Therefore, users

should purposefully choose heavy caster manufacturers, and must not blindly pursue low prices,

so as to avoid damage to loaded products and unnecessary property losses due to casters.

2. Wheel material for heavy castors
Heavy casters are used for the movement of heavy equipment, so the wheels of heavy casters

generally use hard tread single wheels. For example, the iron core is wrapped with polyurethane

wheel. The wheel is made of polyurethane, solid cast iron wheel core and precision double ball

bearing. It is durable and has strong impact force. It has a stable plane single wheel surface structure,

large wheel width, flexible rotation, large load capacity and stability, wear resistance and slow weight. It

is suitable for use under the condition of high overload load.

3. Design of rotating plate of heavy universal wheel
Heavy casters usually use double-layer steel ball runway, stamping forming and heat treatment. For the

rotating plate of the extra heavy universal wheel, the plane ball bearing or plane needle roller bearing

with greater force is generally used, and the cone bearing is matched, which effectively improves the

load capacity of the heavy caster. For the special impact resistant heavy universal wheel, the rotating

plate is made of die forged steel, which effectively avoids the welding of connecting plate bolts and

improves the impact resistance of casters with greater strength. The steel plate is welded on both

sides, combined with the impact resistant structure of plane ball bearing and conical bearing. As a

secondary load bearing, conical rolling bearing can protect casters to the greatest extent and is

suitable for power traction.

4. Support design of heavy caster
The support of heavy castor usually adopts metal materials as the main body, including ordinary

steel plate stamping forming, cast steel forming, die forging steel forming, etc. it is usually based

on flat plate assembly. The steel plate thickness of heavy castors is generally 6mm, 10mm, 12mm

and more than 26mm.

5. Wheel diameter of heavy castors
According to the principle that the larger the diameter of the wheel, the more flexible the rotation is,

the common specifications include 4-inch casters, 5-inch casters, 6-inch casters, 8-inch casters, 10

inch casters and 12 inch casters. At present, the 2.5t extra heavy casters we produce are casters

with a diameter of 300mm and a wheel width of 76mm. Of course, you can also customize heavy-duty

with special specifications.
