What is heat strengthening?

Heat strengthened glass with similar character like the toughened glass, its about 4-5 times stronger than ordinary annealed glass, whereas tempered glass is 5-7 times stronger than normal anneal glass. The heat strengthened glass when been broken will break into large pieces like the normal float glass and will not shatter into smaller pieces like tempered glass.

When should we use heat strengthening process?

Usually, the heat strengthened glass is used in laminated glass. Such as the overhead glass awning /canopies, if use heat strengthened glass panel was broken because it breaks in large pieces (unlike toughened glass crumbling into small particle ) the glass panel will stay intact.
