The Weathermometer is designed with metered lamps, specific filters, very precisely supervised irradiance, purified water, controlled atmosphere (humidity and temperature) and predefined light, dark and rain cycles durations to simulate a lighting exposure environment(both light and dark cycles), used in checking colour fastness to light, weather and light aging of different coloured clothing and other materials, as for these uses, you could refer to this weathermometer as a lightfastness tester or Fadeometer. Furthermore, It reduces the testing duration through using xenon arc irradiation in a chamber, that's why it's also called xenon arc weathermometer chamber.
