Mica Insulated Barrel Band Heater
Mica Band Heaters are constructed by winding a nickel-chrome resistance ribbon around mica insulation and encapsulated in a stainless steel sheath.
It is then formed to the desired diameter for installation over a dies, barrels and nozzles.
Mica heaters are utilized in applications across various industries, and extensively in the plastics industry which are installed on cylinder forms such as barrels, pipes and nozzles of injection molding or extrusion machines.Mica band heaters are capable of sheath temperatures up to 1200°F (650°C) with stainless steel sheath, or 900°F (480°C) with aluminized steel sheath. A variety of heater constructions are available, with many termination and clamping options.
