1. High strength. The density of titanium is generally around 4.51g/ cm3, which is only 60% of that of steel.
2. High thermal strength, the use temperature is several hundred degrees higher than the aluminum alloy, in the medium temperature can still maintain the required strength, can work in the temperature of 450 ~ 500℃ for a long time.
3. Good corrosion resistance. Titanium works in humid atmosphere and seawater medium, and its corrosion resistance is far better than stainless steel;Especially strong resistance to pitting corrosion, acid corrosion and stress corrosion;To alkali, chloride, chlorine organic goods, nitric acid, sulfuric acid and other excellent corrosion resistance.But titanium has poor corrosion resistance to reducing oxygen and chromium salt media.
4. Good low temperature performance. Titanium can maintain mechanical properties at low and ultra-low temperatures.Titanium with good low temperature performance and very low interstitial elements, therefore, titanium alloy is also an important low temperature structural material.
5. Titanium is a non-magnetic metal, in a large magnetic field will not be magnetized, and non-toxic.
6. Good heat transfer performance. Although the thermal conductivity of titanium metal is lower than carbon steel and copper, but because of the excellent corrosion resistance of titanium, the wall thickness can be greatly reduced, and the heat transfer mode between the surface and steam is droplet condensation, reducing the heat group, titanium surface without scaling can also reduce the thermal resistance, so that the heat transfer performance of titanium is significantly improved.
7. Low modulus of elasticity. The elastic modulus of titanium is 106.4GPa at room temperature, which is 57% of that of steel.
