The measurement principle is based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction. As shown in the figure below, the two electromagnetic coils at the upper and lower ends generate a constant or alternating magnetic field. When the conductive medium flows through the electromagnetic flowmeter, it will cut the magnetic field line, and an induction will be generated at this time. The electromotive force is detected by the two measuring electrodes. The magnitude of this induced electromotive force is proportional to the flow rate of the conductive medium, the magnetic induction intensity of the magnetic field, and the width of the conductor (the diameter of the pipe measured by the flowmeter). The flow rate of the medium can be obtained by calculation.
