Product Description
Lightning Current Counter (LCC) is used to count the number of discharging lighting current of various lightning protection device. The LCC extends the count number up to 99 times from one digit to two digits. The LCC is installed to the lighting current discharging module, for example, connect the LCC to the earthing line of the surge protection device (SPD), starting from minimum current of 1kA (8/20 s) to maximum current of 150kA (8/20 s). The recorded data can be kept for one month when the power is cut off. The LCC works with Current Mutual Inductor (CMI). The coil of the CMI is connected to the PE line of the SPD. The two wires of the CMI are connected to the 5th and 6th terminals of the LCC. When the surge happens, the SPD discharges the lighting current to the ground and the CMI inducts the lightning current. The lighting current samples will be taken to the LCC and processed by the inside integrated circuit, displaying the count number on the LED when pressing the button on the LED tube. There are six terminals on the LCC. The 1st and 2nd terminals are used to supply the power. The 3rd and 4th terminals can be short circuit so reset the count to zero. The 5th and 6th terminals are used to connect the two wires of the CMI.
Digital Lightning Strike counter will record direct lightning strikes to an external lightning protection system.
